VWCCS was extended an invitation from Nicole Lawless, Executive Director of Legal Services at the Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC) to provide support for victims and witnesses in giving evidence at the HCCC’s proceedings. The HCCC conducts all disciplinary prosecutions against registered health practitioners in NSW.
The partnership recognises the expertise of VWCCS Court Support Officers in working with vulnerable victims and witnesses. Selected VWCCS CSOs have participated in training with the HCCC to enable them to provide support for clients in HCCC proceedings.
VWCCS looks forward to its on-going referrals from the HCCC in providing support and assistance to those who request it.
