At a ceremony in September 2014, the VWCCS Parramatta team were awarded the 2014 Volunteer Team of the Year award for the Sydney Mid- West region. The team were also finalists in the 2014 State Volunteer of the Year Awards in December.
This award was a testament to the professionalism and dedication of the volunteers at Parramatta, who as VWCCS Reception and Information Desk volunteers and Court Support Assistants, informed, supported and prepared thousands of victims and witnesses of crime for the unfamiliar environment of the court and in doing so have empowered them to fulfil their role as witness for the Prosecution.
To be recognised in this way was very fitting as the Parramatta volunteers have formed a close knit team who strive to provide a high standard service. As volunteers, this takes an extraordinary amount of teamwork, commitment and generosity.
